1970s Ceramic Plate by Peter Shire

About

A very early ceramic plate by Los Angeles postmodernist artist Peter Shire (b. 1947). Incised signature and dated 1-15-75 on back. The lively, vibrant design is of an animal figure. Well-known for his constructivist-inspired teapots of the 1980s, Shire was one of the original members of the Memphis Group in Milan.
