Antique Chelsea porcelain reticulated circular basket, Probably James Giles decoration, circa 1755-1760. The circular Chelsea porcelain basket with brown twig handles terminating in leaves and flowers has a border of openwork, the rim painted in brown. The interior of the basket is painted with fruit and leaves. The exterior of the basket with a moulded basket weave pattern with openwork to top edge. Mark: Red Anchor Reference: In search of James Giles, Gerald Coke, page 186-188 for cut fruit examples and page 48 for discussion of Giles' use of Chelsea brown anchor wares.
