Art Nouveau Tile Panel Utschneider Sarreguemines C 1905
About the Item
A set of nine beautiful art nouveau wall tiles, divided into three sets of three tiles each mounted on a wooden board. Each individual tile is 8" square.
The factory that made these tiles is: Utschneider & Co, Sarreguemines, founded in 1785.
The tiles were pressed into a mold with clay powder. After drying and applying decoration in cuerda-seca technique and colored glazes, the tiles were fired in the kiln.
These tiles are originally a building material and have been in a tiling of a residential house before. Tiles are in very good condition with nice bright glaze. Only some light traces of use such as tiny glaze chips to sides, visible on the pictures.
