About the Item

Berndt Friberg, Large stoneware vase with dark brown haresfur glaze, Gustavsberg , Sweden 1963 Impressed "Friberg" "G (hand) " Incised "e" This is a large size dark brown haresfur glazed vase by Berndt Friberg, a master potter at the Gustavsberg Porcelain manufactory in Sweden. The entire vessel is covered with a light brown glazed surface, which is then covered with a double layer of darker brown glaze covering the entire surface. The glaze hairline flows beautifully over the entire piece, giving it a flawless, seamless look. The shape is the standard curved vase form of Friberg's work. It is large enough to be a beautiful piece with a strong presence. The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.
