Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Bowl with brown haresfur glaze, Gustavsberg, Sweden 1965 Impressed "Friberg" "G (hand) " Incised "g"
The entire vessel is covered with a black-brown glaze, which is then covered with a double layer of darker black-brown glaze, which mixes and flows beautifully. The glaze is a standard glaze for Friberg's work, and the beautiful gradient of the glaze flows from the rim.
The glaze flows nicely both inside and out, and the glaze has a fine hairline. The rim has a nice gradation.
The shape is that of a bowl with a regular circle rim, falling vertically from the rim and bending at the waist in the shape of a twilled bowl, a standard shape for Friberg's work. The style form is influenced by old Chinese ceramics.
In good condition.
The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.
