Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Blue Black Bowl, Gustavsberg, Sweden, 1962

About the Item

Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Bowl with blue and black haresfur glaze, Gustavsberg, Sweden 1962 Impressed "Friberg" "G (hand) " Incised "d" The entire vessel is covered with a pale blue glaze, which is then covered with an almost black brown glaze. The outer surface shows a beautiful gradation of pale blue to black glaze. The inside has a slightly stained appearance, but this is due to the firing process and is in good condition. The shape of the bowl is a beautiful regular circle, and it is generously large, giving it a bowl shape like a Buddhist art object made of copper. The bowl has a solemn atmosphere with a sense of serenity. The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.
