About the Item
Decorative plate in fireclay, entirely handmade in Italy. The incredibly material finish has been left natural to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of this clay. The whiteness of its color is reminiscent of something ancient, consumed by the sea and the wind, the same sensation you have to the touch. A timeless object that can be used as a centerpiece or hung on the wall.
Dimensions : D 52 cm, H 6 cm
The sculptural plate draws inspiration from one of the most characteristic products of luster ceramics of the Italian sixteenth century: the "coppe abborchiate" which were embellished with 24Kt gold and ruby to obtain unique and incomparable reflections.
Today Gabriele Mengoni artist, sculptor, expert ceramist, fascinated by this rediscovered technique, experiments with new forms and modern decorations for deBlona. All the various phases of the work are rigorously done by hand giving uniqueness to each single object.

deBlona
The creation of deBlona brand took place in 2020, triggered by a chance meeting between the entrepreneur Moreno Sagni and the designer Riccardo Mei: their common passion for art and Italian artistic craftsmanship led them to combine energy and skills to take on this challenge.
In a world that runs at overwhelming digital speed, they made a choice against the tide: stopping time, restoring value and prestige to an ancient craft, to an art. Because there are things that cannot be forgotten, even if today they sound so foreign to the new normal, far from the trends that end in a click. So, deBlona changes speed, following the rhythm of another time, that of the masters, and creating in places of quiet and silence. Our brand bets on that tradition that runs through history and continues to lead the chain of gestures of creation, inspired by today’s imagination and flair. Our atelier is the place where research and creation begin: it’s the house of the skilled artists on whom we rely to offer you the most exclusive and precious artifacts. Here, deBlona majolica comes to life, from each artisans’ deep knowledge of materials and techniques, to their experience and craftmanship. Each signature has its own distinctive feature: deBlona’s represented by the uniqueness of the decorations and the interpretation of the color. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
