About the Item

This is an English Roe's rosebud patent transferware pie funnel. A pie funnel is a hollow ceramic device shaped like a chimney used to vent and support a pie crust. By placing the funnel in the center of the pie it prevents the pie filling from boiling up and leaking through the crust by allowing steam to escape from inside the pie. Pie funnels are sometimes called vents, whistles, chimneys or birds. A wonderful item for the pie funnel collector or cook. H 4 in. x Dm 2.5 in. H 10.16 cm x Dm 6.35 cm DIAMETER 2.5 in. (6.35 cm)
