About the Item
A lovely glazed terra cotta cream bowl from early to mid-20th century France. This earthen bowl–also known as a pancheon–was used to stand milk while the cream separates, then the cream is then poured off the top bythe small spout found on the pot’s lip. This antique bowl is in excellent condition, appropriately glazed a translucent chalk-white on the interior and a soft matte exterior. The glaze was not only a decorative choice but prevented the milk from being absorbed by the terra cotta. Today, this wonderful bowl would make a fantastic fruit bowl or decorative object around the home. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.
