About the Item

A graceful dancer in a long, low-cut, high-slit red dress with an all-over floral pattern, her head tilted to the right, looking down, her left hand placing a downward-facing bouquet of roses on her chest and posing with her upper body tilted back, holding the end of her skirt with her outstretched right hand, in front of her on the floor a fallen rose that has come loose from the bunch. On a black, flat oval base, artist's signature ‘Dakon’ on the underside. Compare model 7991 Twin Dancers The 'Dolly Sisters' Rosie Dolly (1892 - 1970) and Jenny Dolly (1892 - 1941), known professionally as (the) Dolly Sisters, were Hungarian-American identical twin dancers, singers and actresses, popular in vaudeville and theatre during the 1910s and 1920s. Both sisters also appeared in two silent films. Designed by STEPHAN DAKON (1904 - 1992), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory.
