About the Item
Rare Art Deco Goldscheider Ceramics Figurine
A young musician is depicted who, dressed as Pierrette, sits on a pedestal with her lute. Her wide costume with knee-length harem pants and a particularly large beige-colored ruff is densely decorated with large orange and green polka dots. Her left leg is crossed over her right, and with her right hand she is holding onto the lute placed next to her.
The figure sitting on a cuboid is based on another square flat base with rounded corners and edges, artist's signature 'Thomasch' on the back of the base.
Designed by STEPHAN DAKON (1904-1997), who was an academic sculptor and ceramic artist, operations manager at Goldscheider Vienna, from 1926 had his own production in Sierndorf.
