    Depiction of a dancer in Spanish costume: she wears a mantilla, a veil cloth that covers the head and neck down to the shoulders. Often, as here, a high comb is also tucked underneath, the peineta. The cloth is still worn today for festive costumes and is mostly made in lace technique. In addition, the dancer wears an elaborately decorated with floral patterns asymmetrical ruffled skirt. On oval, black-beige marbled base in rare execution.
