Goldscheider Vienna Striding Lady With Cape And Muff, by Josef Lorenzl, ca 1934

About the Item

Very Rare Goldscheider Ceramic Figurine of the 1930s: Young pretty lady with short hair and a red hat, a beige colored cape with wide puffed sleeves and a long, tight skirt with a large, brown and red checked pattern, burying her hands with long, black gloves in the muff she is wearing in front of her, and walking along looking down thoughtfully. On a cream-colored oval base with the artist's signature 'Lorenzl' on the top of the base behind the figure. Designed by Josef LORENZL (1892 - 1950), was an Austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl designed numerous ceramics for Friedrich Goldscheider and Keramos and was one of the most popular artists of Art Deco. Model 6933 was created and made circa 1934.
