    A vintage lidded casserole serving dish in Brown Mist by Niels Refsgaard for Dansk. You may know Dansk, if not don't worry I'll get to them later. For now, let's look at who Niels Refsgaard is. From a Dansk catalog, "Niels Refsgaard has been an integral part of the Dansk story for more than 60 years as a designer, creator, and brand champion. Niels prefers to be called a “simple country potter” and it is his amazing talent and devotion to his Craft that shines through in all that he creates. We can’t think of a design collaboration between brand and craftsman that has stood the test of time the way the Dansk and Refsgaard marriage has. That longevity has yielded much success along the way, as evidenced by the fact that so many of Niels’ dinnerware patterns are still active in the Dansk line today. We like to think of Niels as one of Mid-Century Modern’s ceramic masters, and as this design theme is enjoying renewed attention in the last several years we have not only re-issued some of Niels’ early work, we’ve commissioned him to develop a new approach to the casual dining experience."
