Rare Art Deco Style Mid-Century Stylized Racoon Sculpture Anthracite

About the Item

One of a kind, stylized racoon sculpture. We have had this beautifully stylized racoon for a number of years now, but we never had it up for sale. We have tried to find out more about it, but this racoon is a bit of an enigma. We don't know who made it or where and when it was made. What we do know, is that this anthracite colored racoon is of top quality design. In fact, the lines are very much like many of the Art Deco sculptures that were made in the 1920s. However, we are quite certain that this piece of art was made somewhere between 1950 and 1980. We never found another one anywhere in the world, it has no makers marks and apart from one chip on the back (see image 6 and 7) this ceramic racoon is in mint condition. If you are looking for rare and beautiful animal sculptures at a reasonable price, then this stunning racoon could be flying your way soon. Worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days is complimentary. Maximum width x height x depth: 7.9 x 4.5 x 4.3 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again), Would you like to see our 600+ listings on 1stdibs? • Pure Art Deco Crucifix w. Stylized Bronze Sculpture of Christ on Silkwood Cross
    Located in Lisse, NL
Marked altar crucifix with a brass base with Christogram and a bronze corpus with a Gothic crown. For us the most powerful statement will always be 'the truth will set you free'. It is what we have learned most from the life of Christ and of His teachings and it is the one thing we always think about whenever we look at a crucifix. Anyone who has tried to break down his/her ego and found a clearer consciousness in the process, knows how healing and rewarding that journey can be. After that you can only be grateful for all the good things that are bound to come your way. Good things will come your way, because the universe needs people like you. Both the beautifully designed wooden cross and the Art Deco bronze corpus of Christ have an amazing patina and together they make this meaningful antique a true work of beauty. The striking, geometrical Art Deco details of the corpus of Christ combined with the Gothic crown with the trefoil symbols (for the trinity), truly makes this a stunning and impressive work of religious art that will never cease to impress. This antique European altar...
