About the Item

Circa 1910, by Robert Hanke for Royal Wettina, Austria. Spectacularly ahead of its time, this ultra-modern secessionist vase is bold in shape and subtle in coloration. A very rare and imaginative example of Robert Hanke's work, the compartmentalized design and unusual low handles foreshadow Deco yet to come. The look is very understated and perfect for any modernist décor. Replete in its otherworldliness, this Austrian vase reminds us that Vienna and Paris were the epicenters of the design world at the turn of the century. Very good condition. Remark: “Austrian pottery has a unique look.” SIZE: 13 inches high by 7 inches wide. HALLMARKS: Royal Wettina, Made in Austria, and the letters RH under a crown for Robert Hanke Porcelain Factory STOCK NUMBER: 24803 Pieces acquired from this dealer must delight you.
