Royal Worcester Plate by James Skerrett
About the Item
This Royal Worcester porcelain cabinet plate is decorated with a centrepiece of fruit painted by James Skerrett (b. 1954) who joined Royal Worcester in 1969 and specialised in limited editions and paintings of fruit. The centrepiece, which features two apples and some berries in front of an autumnal background, is surrounded by extensive raised gilding on a striking maroon ground. The diameter of the plate is 270 mm (10.5 inches) and it stands 25 mm (1 inch) high. It is in excellent condition and dates from the late 1970's.
