The Argenta collection, now emblematic with its green glaze and silver decorations, is one of Wilhelm Käge's most recognizable motifs. Designed in the late 1920s, it was first presented at the Stockholm exhibition in 1930 and was then produced by Gustavsberg, whose designer was the artistic director in the 1930s and 1940s. Finished in tooled silver and a brilliant green-turquoise glaze, this Argenta vase made by Gustavsberg depicts a slithering snake. Most were designed by Wilhelm Kåge, who designed scores of pieces over two decades, The vase is marked on the bottom.
