About the Item

Silversmith Quist designed this exquisite Art Deco barware service for cocktails or appetizers. The piece was crafted circa 1930. The modernist bar accessory features a large silver plate hexagonal serving tray with carved handles. Six blown crystal serving dishes with cut etching complete the server. The bar accessory is perfect to display vegetables or olives. The central rectangular bowl, accompanied by its silver plate lid, can be used for dipping sauces. Each crystal dish is removable from the tray for serving purposes. This designer piece is perfect for entertaining or parties, serving appetizers with cocktails. Legal silversmith hallmarks are on the underside of the tray. The serving piece was crafted in Germany circa 1930. Dimensions: Tray: 18.13 in wide (46 cm) by 10.63 in deep (27 cm) by 2 in high (5 cm). Corner dish (each): 4.32 in wide (11 cm) by 4.32 in deep (11 cm) by 1.19 in high (3 cm). Among the principal shareholders was Wilhelm Friedrich Quist (1831-1903), who acquired a stake in the company's capital around 1890. The firm became F.W. Quist Metallwaarenfabrik, and the Quist family continued to manage the firm until 1951. The factory closed in 1981 due to bankruptcy.
