French 19th Century Etched Glass Chalice

About the Item

Lovely hand rolled and mouth blown clear glass chalice–or vase–from France, 19th century. The tulip-shaped footed bowl is smooth on the interior and etched by hand in stylized motifs resembling ferns and waves on the outside with artistic irregularity confirming the handmade nature. A bulbous stem in solid glass flares into the pedestal base for balanced stability. This wonderful glass vessel is easily adaptable as a serving piece when entertaining or as a flower vase.
