Rare Set of George III English Crystal Wine Glasses

About the Item

Rare Set of George III English Crystal Wine Glasses. Set of seven glasses with "Air Twist" stems. Made in England circa 1790. A refined set of seven George III period wine glasses, expertly handblown in England circa 1790. Each glass features an elegant trumpet bowl atop a strikingly intricate air-twist stem, showcasing a double-helix and mesh lattice motif suspended within the clear crystal- an iconic technique of the 18th century. The wide, conical foot provides balance and grace, with subtle signs of pontil scarring to attest to their handcrafted nature. These glasses exhibit a brilliant clarity and lightness characteristic of the finest Georgian glassware, perfect for both display and special use. An outstanding example of late 18th-century English craftsmanship, these glasses remain in excellent antique condition with gentle wear consistent with age.
