A rare early example of European chinoiserie decoration showing how minimal the decoration was similar to abstraction.
Painted with a chinoiserie landscape scene with a fence and garden in the foreground and a house in a garden on the horizon within a circle border. The rim painted with six repeats of a stylised floral spray. Painted in blue on a blue ground. Probably London or Bristol, first quarter of the 18th century.
