About the Item

Here is a set of beautiful blue and white hand painted Chinese porcelain plates dating to the last half of the 18th century, circa 1780, Qing dynasty. The plates are beautifully potted, and have been hand decorated in a lovely free flowing manner in varying shades of beautiful aquamarine cobalt 'steeley' blues. The glaze is thin and glassy with a lovely bluish tinge. The outer micro scalloped rim is decorated with alternating floral sprigs in eight sections all between blue partitions. The central well is beautifully decorated with flowers and shrubs growing from a rocky outcrop all between double blue circles. The undersides have the double circle and signed with the imperial Kangxi four character mark but made later. The foot rim is neatly trimmed. Overall the condition is remarkably good with only a single small under-glaze grit inclusion, which is from the time of its original firing in the kiln. Measure: Diameter: 11.25 inches (28.5 cm) Good condition with few flea bites (Barely visible) on the rims with no restoration. Please study the images for detailed condition.
