Antique Brightly Polished Pewter Plate With An Armorial, English, C.1800

About the Item

Lovely highly polished pewter plate. With hand and fleur de lys armorial Evidence of a rubbed touchmark on the underside. London maker The pewter has been polished to its original shine to imitate polished silver. It was known as the Poor Man's Silver. The great thing about polished pewter is that it will retain its shine unlike silver which tarnishes. It can be cleaned with soap and water.
