A set of four Chinoiserie patterned Cornflower blue on white earthenware transfer printed soup plates, William Davenport & Company, Longport, Staffordshire England, circa 1830-1840.
A lovely romantic floral border with a central image of an Asian landscape with Pagoda style buildings in the trees.
The wide running border of floral garlands and scrolls meets a molded and scalloped rim.
An early and charming pattern.
10.5 inches in diameter x 1.5 inch deep.
Marked: Impressed Davenport in upper case letters, a printed mark of a figure in Far Eastern costume in a landscape.
Good conditions with the expected minor fritting to the rims due to age and use.
