Set of 6 plates depicting hunting scenes. "Les Grandes Chasses" translated "Great Hunts", No. 1. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Afrique - Chasse au Lion", (Africa - Lion Hunt). No. 2. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Siberie - Chasse a L'Ours", (Siberia - Bear Hunting). No. 5. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Asie - Chasse au Tigre", (Asia - Tiger Hunt). No. 8. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Asie - Chasse a L'Elephant", (Asia - Elephant Hunting). No. 9. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Amerique du Sud - Chasse auBoa Gigas", (South America - Boa hunt). No. 5. There is a subtitle at the bottom of the plate "Asie - Chasse au Tigre", (Asia - Tiger Hunt). On the rear of the plates, "Porcelaine Opaque De Gien" around a shield surmounted by a crown. The edge of the plate is styled to look like basket weave. Dimensions: Diameter 18 cm / 7 3/32" Period 1900-1949 Year Circa 1900 Medium Porcelain Country France.
