About the Item

Founded in 1844, the Charolles factory is characterized by the quality of its traditional earthenware and its artisanal know-how passed down from generation to generation in this small town in southern Burgundy. Jacques Molin and his wife Kira took over the management of the establishment in the early 1970s. By modernizing both the work tool and the production, but preserving the formal references of the great classical tradition, they reinvent the fundamentals of the art of entertaining with a strong oriental inspiration, in particular through the use of crackle glazes and octagonal shapes, but also by generalizing the use of embossed biscuits. Borrowing the shape of the classic barbotine, these 12 generously sized plates explore different enameling techniques in a particularly successful mix and match spirit. Dimensions (cm) : 28.5 diam. & 22.5 diam.
