Orchies French Faïence Majolica Asparagus Plate, circa 1885

A French Faïence majolica glazed asparagus plate from the Orchies Faïencerie in Saint-Armand-Les-Eaux, Northern France, circa 1885. Creamy-white colored asparagus with purple tips lay on a bed of leaves. The border shows a turquoise basket weave area edged with a lime green scalloped rim. Book Reference: pg. 96 , “Artichauts et Asperges en Barbotine” by Maryse Bottero 9.5 in. Diam. x 1 in. H Very good condition with bright glazing. The light wear expected of faïence.
