Set of Four Mason's Ironstone Plates in Chinoiserie Style Made England 1834-1842

A set of four Mason's ironstone plates made in England 1834-1842. The colors are vibrant; deep cobalt blue and bright orange. They are beautifully decorated with floral designs of peach-colored and white flowers and turquoise leaves. In the center of each dish are two waterside scenes, one framed in orange the other one framed in peach. Dimensions: diameter 9.25" Condition: Excellent Price: $460 for the set of four Background of Mason's Ironstone: Ironstone was patented by the British potter Charles James Mason in 1813. Ironstone is an especially durable earthenware. Charles James named his patented formula 'Ironstone.' Mason's Ironstone" was a great success from the start. Throughout the 20th century, the company made a great variety of beautiful dinnerware patterns.
