Bohemian Rare Set Eight Ruby Gilded and Facet Cut Georgian Wine Glasses
$2,053.89per set

About
A very rare set Bohemian ruby red colored wine glasses with gilded patterning to the body and foot and dating from the early 19th century around 1810/20. These stylish glasses have wide rounded slightly domed feet decorated with small gilded star designs with a diamond facet cut solid stem and an eleven panel cut bowl decorated with fine gilded designs and edging. While similar glass ware was produced in England from circa 1780 until circa 1800 these later European colored examples originated in Bohemia and were made between 1810 and 1830 to Georgian taste. More commonly found in green and blue glass, and usually found as single examples, this set of eight ruby red glasses is a very rare find.
The glasses are in offered in good condition retaining much of the gilded patterning which is unusual.
