About the Item

A fabulous Fachschule Haida Amber, flashed over clear, cut low bowl depicting in alternating amber and clear panels one with an exotic veiled dancer and the others with garlands of flowers. Producing a striking image with cut vertical panels and cross hatching. The bowl is near oval with pointed sides -eye shaped. The Fachschule Haida was the workshop of the famous Haida glass school - to promote their skills and generate income the Professors at the school would create designs and the students would cut and enamel them for sale -there was no factory - all the work was done and the pieces created by the Professors and their students -It was one of only three Bohemian glass schools; it was later renamed Nový Bor and still exists today
