About the Item
Stunning large Emile Galle cameo 'stick' vase in dramatic purple and dark green over bright blue - depicting branches of flowering Vervain, (an unusual and very effective colourway) signed in cameo (see picture 7 Provost Mk III -see last picture for dating chart). It is documented (by Provost) that the Vervain pattern was bought out in 1907 -this example dates from just a little later c1908. Emile Galle was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement.
