Rare Art Nouveau Emile Galle Extra Large 'Banjo' vase, depicting a sticky fly catcher type plant in purple over green, signed in cameo (see picture 5 Provost Mk III see last picture for dating chart). Emile Galle Cameo Banjo vases (so called because they vaguely resemble that shape) are amongst the most collected of Emile Galle shapes with many collectors only buying this form -10'' inch tall examples are exceptionally rare and highly prized. Emile Galle was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement.
