Smilow Design
Smilow Design is a third-generation family-owned design company that produces furniture, lighting, and glasswares. Judy Smilow (1958–2018), designer and founder of Smilow Design LLC, grew up “modern” in a Frank Lloyd Wright cooperative community surrounded by her father’s artwork and furniture. Her father, Mel Smilow (1922–2002) designed and retailed modern furnishings through his six independently owned stores from 1949 through the late 1970s. Our current collection is a modernized and updated selection of Mel's best pieces and Judy's glassware. Still handcrafted in America by skilled craftsmen, our products fit what Mel used to say about his furniture: Enduring. Modern. Classic. It is with great privilege and pride that Judy’s Husband Steven Schoenfelder and children Maia and Aaron Schoenfelder continuing on as a family-owned business. Current products include our Smilow® Furniture, Smilow® Lighting, and Glass Collections.
