Lalique France Eagle

About the Item

Lalique Liberty Eagle Figurine Large frosted crystal sculpture signed France. René Jules Lalique was a French master glassmaker and jeweller, best known for his glass art and jewellery designs. In 1876 Lalique did his apprenticeship with Louis Aucoc, a prominent goldsmith and jeweller in Paris. Rene'-Jules then studied at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. Born on April 6, 1860 in the Marne region of France, Lalique became a jewellery designer for Cartier and Jacta, then became a full-time jeweller in 1885. In Paris, in the nineties of the nineteenth century, he started his own workshop that led him to become a sought-after jeweller and glass artist. Lalique died on May 1, 1945.
