About the Item

Elegant and sculptural Murano art glass mortar with matching pestle, attributed to the Seguso workshop, Italy, circa 1970. The bowl is formed in the shape of a stylized shell, with fluid, wave-like contours and a soft iridescent sheen that shimmers beautifully in the light. The matching pestle echoes the organic design, with smooth, rounded ends. Though unsigned, the refined form and quality of the glass suggest a strong attribution to Livio Seguso or Seguso Vetri d’Arte. A rare functional art object with a poetic, oceanic character — decorative yet utilitarian. Dimensions: 13 cm x 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm high (5.12 in x 3.74 in x 2.95 in) Free shipping worldwide
