Exceptional and attractive colored Murano glass table centerpiece; the shape, rich of soft curves and rounded ends, fascinates us for its incomparable and elegant plasticity and lightness; was made with the technique of "submerged" glass, a procedure used by Murano furnaces in the production of artistic glass that consists of coupling, hot, different shades of color by immersing the mouth-blown glass with a special cane by a master glassmaker in crucibles containing different colors, for our centerpiece was used cobalt oxide for the blue and copper oxide for the green color; at this point the master was able to make the massive block of glass delicate, almost vaporous, pulling it by torsion, working it with pliers and shaping it by hand to give it the desired shape; then the object was made entirely by hand and without the use of molds or models, creating in this way a unique piece, just like a work of art. This method of coloring is called "colors in fire" ("colors in fire" and in Venetian dialect "color en fogo") and represents the best quality of glass achievable in an artistic furnace: the processing in "fogo" guarantees infinite durability to the color, which remains stable, unalterable, particularly vivid, homogeneous and intense. This table centerpiece was created between 1960 and 1964 with experience and unparalleled skill by a great Murano master in a magical, fascinating and artistic place: a handcrafted furnace in Murano. However, whoever was the creator, the realization of this centerpiece confirms that the Venetian aptitude, celebrated over the centuries, for glass working, is an alchemic combination of the material elaborated by artisan intelligence with happy artistic intuitions; Since ancient times the Venetian artisans protect and hand down the art of glass always giving us valuable and unique works of art that fascinate us for their beauty. The object is in excellent condition. Measures width 38 cm, depth 22 cm, height 10 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
