Czech Mstisov or Moser Duha Range Bell Vase Designed 1964
By Moser
Located in Tunbridge Wells, GB
Heading : Czech Mstisov or Moser Duha range bell vase Date : Designed 1964 by Vladimir Mika - this example from the late 60s Origin : Czechoslovakia Bowl Features : Striped ink blue and emerald glass cased in clear Type : Lead Size : 15.6cm height, 13.8cm diameter Condition :Excellent, no chips or cracsk Restoration : None Weight : 1601 grams Mark Hill Comments : The Duha range is typified by a 'rainbow' of horizontal bands in vibrant green, orange and blue, and heavily cased forms. Ovoid vase forms were produced using the 'wet stick' process, where a wet stick was thrust into the molten body of the piece when it was being formed. The water in the stick would turn to steam and expand the body. It would then be finished. Quality was always high and examples with even and strong colours are now highly sought-after. The range was produced from 19609-64 at Mstisov and then from 1964 to around 1971 at Moser. It was featured in Czechoslovak Glass...
