Set 4 HandBlown Tequila, Mezcal Liquor Glasses 3oz Inspired in Pre-Hispanic Art

About the Item

Acatl is a collection of Tumblers and liquor, Mezcal and Tequila glasses in 6 different colours. Produced in an artesanal way in Jalisco, Mexico using 100% recycled glass. The shape of this collection of glasses is manifested from the union of two elements. A cylindrical center and a ring that forms an X shape that in turn refers to the way the ancient Mexicas tied their flowers or canes, the symbol for this "ACATL" or reed. The Acatl symbol shape was used in several sculptures of the pre conquist times and in several cultures around what is today Mexico. This form has also been used in architecture, the anahuacalli museum for example, if the central part of the building is observed on the facade, it makes this movement in the shape of an X that the reeds produce when tied to the center with force and this form gives stability to the tie to stay in vertical way. These glasses are made of 100% recycled glass, mainly coca cola bottles, curiously Mexico is among the countries with the highest consumption of this soft drink in the world.
