Striking Muller Freres Lake Como Landscape Cameo Glass Vase c 1920 -signed
About the Item
A striking and very beautiful Muller Freres cameo landscape vase in darkest brown, over blue, over an almost opaque cream. It depicts one of the most classical landscape images of the period the fabulous Lake Como. The cameo vase has fine detail even in the branches of the trees. A classic example of vibrant 1920s Art Deco French glass. Signed in relief -visible in both the first and last photos
The many Muller brothers started off working for most of the great Glass houses such as Emile Galle and Val Saint Lambert and then later got together to found their own glass empire -although quite successful in the Art Nouveau period they really came into their own in the Art Deco era.
