An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Charles II English sterling silver porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver porringer has a circular rounded form onto a collet base. The surface of the porringer is embellished with an impressive chased hunting hound to one side and a stag to the other, all amidst large foliate designs and incorporating pinstruck swirl designs. This English silver porringer is fitted with two impressive cast, leaf decorated S-scroll handles with elevated figural shaped thumbpieces. Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mustard pot made by Edward & John Barnard; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced interlacing scrolling leaf designs. The upper and lower rim of this sterling mustard pot is ornamented with an applied bead decorated border. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece. This antique piece is fitted with an opposing scroll handle ornamented with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of cover are all very clear; the maker's mark to the interior of the cover have wear in keeping with age.
