These Georgian silver bottle labels are suspended by two ring loops to the corners of the urn designs and connected by silver round link chains.
These fine bottle labels, crafted by the renowned female London silversmith Hester Bateman, are an exceptional example of their type.

A magnificent, fine and impressive set of six antique George III English sterling silver meat skewers or letter openers made by Paul Storr, an addition to our diverse flatware collection.
These magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver meat skewers or letter openers has a plain tapered form.
This exceptional set is comprised of three pairs of meat skewers, each pair graduating in size.
Each skewer is ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest below a baron's coronet.
The terminal of each skewer is embellished with a chased decorated shell design below a reed decorated circular ring loop finger piece.
Sets of six graduated antique silver skewers are difficult to locate, especially those by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr.
The original use of this item was purely as a game/meat skewer. Due to its form, this piece may certainly be used as an effective letter openers

Fine Pair of George III Mahogany Wine Cisterns Attributed to Gillows

Each cistern is in the form of a fluted vase on a rectangular pedestal. The lead-lined vases have brass handles, removable lids with pineapple finials and taps. The crossbanded pedestals have cupboard doors enclosing slatted shelves for warming plates in one and a lead-lined slops drawers, a tambour fronted shelf and a cellaret in the other.
Susan Stuart, 'Gillow of Lancaster and London', 2008 vol 1 p308-315 illustrates many pedestal urns including the drawings for Workington Hall, Cumbria, dated 1788. PLates 342 and 343 show pedestals with a similar arrangement of shelves and drawers. Thomas Sheraton explained the functions of dining room pedestals in his 'Drawing Book' of 1793: 'IN spacious dining rooms the sideboards are often made without drawers of any sort, having simply a rail, a little ornament...

This antique Georgian sterling silver sweetmeat basket has an oval navette form onto a collet foot.
The body of this sterling silver basket is embellished with a band of pierced decorated vertical pales accented with four foliate motifs.
The basket is further ornamented with two bands of pierced evolute scrolling decoration with a scallop and circular motif decorated border.
The upper rim and foot of the basket are encircled with applied bead decorated borders.
This George III sterling silver basket is fitted with an applied bead decorated swing handle.
The well of the basket is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest depicting out of a ducal coronet a wolf's head.
