Antique Pugliese Ceramic Water Pitcher (circa 1890s)

About the Item

Ceramic antique water jug from Puglia in the South of Italy (circa late 19th C). A delightful example of a Pugliese pitcher decorated and shaped in the traditional way of the 19th Century. A gorgeous swan is painted in cobalt blue with greenery on either side along with a partial painted band at the mouth of the piece. History and charm all at once! In fair overall condition commensurate with age. There is a chip and various blemishes at the base underside which does not affect the visual impression of the piece on the whole, along with minor blemishes on the lip - they only add to the vintage appeal of the piece. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video will be provided. Dimensions: H 33.5 cm / 13.2" W 21 cm / 8.3" D 18 cm / 7.1"
