About the Item

Early 20th Century English Floral Ceramic Pitcher by BWM & Co, Cauldon England Elegant antique ceramic pitcher from England, circa 1905–1920, produced by BWM & Co (Brownhill, Wilkinson, Moore & Co) at the renowned Cauldon works in Stoke-on-Trent. The piece features a crisp white ground with beautifully detailed blue floral motifs – likely transfer-printed and hand-finished, as was typical of the period – and elegant relief work around the rim and handle. The organic curves, fluted neck, and floral-inspired form reflect the late Victorian and Art Nouveau design sensibility, where nature served as both ornament and structure. The handle is particularly refined, with delicate molding and sculptural flow that enhances the pitcher’s graceful silhouette. This is a decorative yet functional piece – ideal for use as a vase or display on a shelf or dining table. The piece is marked “BWM & Co – FLORAL – Cauldon England” on the underside. Dimensions: Height: 11 in (28 cm) Width (across the body): 6.9 in (17.5 cm) Depth (spout to handle): 8 in (20.5 cm) Please see all photos for details and minor imperfections consistent with age and use. About BWM & Co: BWM & Co (Brownhill, Wilkinson, Moore & Co) was active in the early 20th century and produced fine earthenware and porcelain at the historic Cauldon Works in Staffordshire, England – a region known for its centuries-old pottery tradition.
