Howard & Co. sterling silver ewer or pitcher in exquisite repousse pattern adorned with floral, natural, and other stylized motifs, from the late 19th or early 20th century. It measures 16'' in height by 9 1/2'' from handle to spout, weighs an impressive 47.6 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown.
Howard & Company was located at 264 Fifth Avenue in New York and were jewelers and silversmiths. Howard & Co. made outstanding silver and had shops in New York, Newport, London and Paris during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Owner J.P. Howard had a deep passion for excellent design and quality execution.

A crystal ewer blown and carved with facets in silver mounts. The crystal is engraved with flower baskets or baskets of flowers. The neck of the ewer is finely chiseled with floral motifs and grape vines. The beak is closed by a lid whose grip is adorned with a floral pattern in relief. The interior is vermeil.
