Joseph Sankey Art Nouveau Stylized Floral Pattern Copper Pitcher

About the Item

A stylish English Art Nouveau large copper pitcher decorated in a stylized floral pattern by renowned Bilston based metalworkers Joseph Sankey & Sons dating from around 1900. The large and tall copper pitcher has a trumpet shaped body embossed with floral designs on tall stems with stylized interleaving leaves forming a heart shape. A hollow looped handle is riveted to the side of the body with a large shaped raised pouring spout to the top. The pitcher has impressed J.S&S MADE IN ENGLAND and SOLID COPPER marks to the base along with an impressed 6 which denotes the large size of the piece. Provenance: Acquired in the UK Art Market. In good unpolished presentable condition with a few dings and wear associated with age and use.
