About the Item

The Fein Zinn and Kayserzinn set is handcrafted pewter. The vintage Fein Zinn pewter tankard and cup is probably late 19th Century. Of circular section with shouldered cover, shaped handle and thumbmold, flaring body with geometric "quilted" sides, on a tall molded foot marked with flowered crown mark for fine pewter and "Fein Zinn" mark both on the bottom. The tankard is 12 inches high and 6-1/2 inches in diameter. Also: the vintage Kayserzinn pewter egg cup is probably 19th Century, according to our appraiser. Of circular form with three short legs on a circular foot, marked "Kayserzinn" in an oval mark underneath. Both of the pieces are in fair to good condition. The tankard is actually quite beautiful with its geometric waffle pattern.

The cherub upholstery fabric of this antique corner chair will bring a smile to your face, but the piece deserves a deeper look. It has a secret.: The chair has a "second skin," in a tweed upholstery that someone was reluctant to remove. The cherub upholstery on the armrest of the chair is actually a shawl or drape for the for the chair. It is Victorian, carved and turned walnut on a part-upholstered corner armchair that is English or American from the late 19th Century according to our appraiser. The seat is triangular with a rounded front rail, that is backed by two low arms with raised upholstery. The curved seat rail has a long fringe trim, all raised on four cylindrical bead turned legs on casters. The detachable fabric drape or shawl is priceless. Appraisers beleive this could have possibly been half of a two-piece tete-a-tete chair...
