Hexagonal Pitcher Pagliesco , Liliac Rim, including 12 water glass with red rim
By Carlo Scarpa, Venini
Located in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, Florence
Beautiful Carlo Sarpa designed pitcher glassware.
Extremely light. Egg skin thickness. Very elegant and incredible to touch and weight. A perfect eclectic present or a self-gift.
Base reads and other identifications, references: No label. Not possible that would carry a signature due to the glass being so thin. Production of this set continued from Carlo Scarpa direction till now. There is a possibility that these were also made under Zecchin era. There are few flaws that I tried to highlight in a picture. Need magnifying lens to find them.
The color of the set is called in Murano "fumè" which is something that relates to the technique of obtaining it rather than the actual color. It's a mezzetinte color very difficult to use because it changes from dark topaz to light straw.
Just added 12 water glass...
