Mid 19th Century Antique Victorian Large Sterling Silver Wine Ewer London 1857 E

About the Item

A splendidly large and incredibly important large Victorian wine ewer. A truly magnificent and large wine ewer displaying inspired use of the scroll designs. The splendidly decorative bulbous body has a double cartouche in which sits a contemporary presentation inscription and a stylish contemporary armorial. The shaped circular raised pedestal foot is decorated with flowing fluted cascades and applied cast motifs for lowlights. The size of the ewer is incredibly rare and it is made by the highly renowned silversmith's of Barnards.
