Miniature Antique Pearlware Blue & White Painted Jug

About the Item

A delightful and rare antique English pearlware hand painted miniature jug dating from the latter 18th century. The bulbous shaped jug has a simple ear shaped loop handle to one side with top with a wide shaped pouring spout. The body of the jug is hand painted with simple floral designs repeated around the body with a patterned rim around the top edge of the jug. The jug is not marked and possibly made in Liverpool but an unusual and probably individual piece with designs more akin to earlier delft wares. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good presentable condition with some fritting and a small chip to the top rim.
